Understanding the Constitution and its salient features

what are Salient Features of Indian Constitution,
what is Parliamentary form of Government ?Why is Indian Constitution rigid as well as Flexible?what
is Sovereign, Secular, Socialist , Demcratic and Republic under Indian Constitution ? Hello
Guys this is Jolly Tewari from Lawsikho so today we are going to discuss about Constitution,
Salient Features of Constitution (Part 1) so before starting my video kindly like and
subscribe for more videos like this so lets start from here so what is Indian Constitution? Why it is so lenghty? Indian Constitution is lenghthiest constitution
in the world . why it is lenghty because it has 12 schedules and it has 448 Articles,
how did it get so lenghty because for the states like Assam, Mizoram and Nagaland special
provisions were added as it was necessary to add because Sir B. R Ambedkar was framing
so some special provisions for Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe were also added so because
of this it became lengthy now many parts of our Indian constitution have been taken from
different parts, they tried to include each and every good point so it became more lengthy
so guys because of this our constitution is the lengthiest constitution in the world,
second feature that is Preamble, Preamble added 5 things in our Constitution that is
Sovereign , secular, Socialist , Democratic and Republic, by sovereign we mean Supreme
power , Supreme absolute an uncontrollable power which is exercised by the State and
the Government, one is Internal Sovereignty and other is External Sovereignty , Internal
Sovereignty is used by state to frame its own Laws and External Sovereignty is exercised
by Government on State so this was Internal and External Sovereinty , the framework of
Indian Constitution has been taken from Government of Indian Act , 1935, now we will come to
secular nature of Indian Constitution , by Secular we mean Unity of Religion no biasness
against one religion, there are two famous cases on this, secularism is the basic feature,
this has come from these cases one is SR Bomnai vs Union of India and second one is Indira
Gandhi vs Raj Narayan these two cases are very important so before appearing for exams
you should go through these cases now Democracy , what do you mean by that Our Government
is Democratic, how it is Democratic because we are the people who elect our Rulers, Representatives,
the people elect the Government, so because of this our Indian Government is the Democratic
Government and now What is Socialist, Socialist is equal opportunity of Income, to provide
equal opportunity to people so what was this, this was Democratic and Socialist ,republic
means now we elect our rulers so we got an idea
that now we can re- elect, so now justice, justice is of three types , Economic Justice,
Social Justice and political justice, Social Justice means Equal Opportunity, Equal treatment
of people now Economic justice means Equal opportunity of Work no one will we Gender
bias but that there will be equal opportunity for everyone now political Justice like any
work related to politics , so opportunity to participate is given to everyone
like Right to vote, right to vote is the right of every citizen everyone can vote now come
to our next part now, our indian constitution is Parlia mentary form of Governmen t and
not presidential form of Government, in presidential form of Government Executive and Judiciary
are different nobody is connected but in Parliamentary form of Government Executive, Judiciary and
Legislature, like both Executive and Legislature has to answer Judiciary, All the three are
connected and liable for any wrong done, the role of parliamentary form of Government is
to see that nobody exercises his will autocraticly there
is a superpower named Judiciary above them to see that no autocratic rule is formed in
our Country then our Indian Constitution is unique blend of Rigidity and Flexibility,
Rigidity means which is very difficult to Amend ,some provision which
are not basic can be amended easily so here our constitution became rigid and flexible
as well so this was salient features of Indian Constitution (part 1) , we will be now coming
to more parts on this which is part 2 and part 3 for that keep watching our videos and
do tell us that what did you find good and what not . Thank You and Have a Nice day!
