Parties set to lock horns as ruling party vows to pass contentious bills

now with the filibuster launched by
South Korea’s main opposition Liberty Korea party coming to an end the
National Assembly will hold a plenary session on Monday to vote on additional
fast-track bills during today’s extra parliamentary session the ruling
Democratic Party aims to pass a set of bills aimed at overhauling the
all-powerful prosecution and setting up an independent body to probe high-level
corruption which are placed on a legislative fast-track in April with
small opposition parties however the session is likely to be met with a major
parties and scuffle as the main opposition party continues san firmly
against the motion bill the bill calls for establishing a separate unit to
probe corruption by high ranking public officials which was one of President
moon jae-in’s major campaign pledges
